If I drive for The Courier App am I an employee?

No you are not an employee. You must provide your own ABN to become a driver. You will be running your own business using the app to find potential deliveries. You will be responsible for putting aside your tax and GST obligations

Question 2

How old can my vehicle be to make deliveries?

Accepted Answer

Your vehicle should be under 15 years old. Older vehicles will be accepted provided that they are in good condition and look respectable. (you may be asked to supply images) Your vehicle must also be registered and insured. A copy of your current registration and proof of insurance will be required

Can I use a rental vehicle to drive for The Courier App?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can provided your rental agreement allows for it.
We still require proof of registration and insurance, most rental companies are happy to provide this information if you ask!

Question 4

How much do I get paid for making a delivery?

Accepted Answer

You will see the amount of each delivery that is shown on the app. You choose if you would like to accept or reject the job depending on the delivery price.

Question 5

How do I get paid for the deliveries I do?

Accepted Answer

All drivers are asked to open a STRIPE payment gateway account. When you have completed the delivery and the customers confirms receiving the goods the funds are transferred into your stripe account immediately. There is no waiting 7 or 14 days to be paid.

Question 6

Can somebody drive on my behalf using my account?

Accepted Answer

Under no circumstances can someone else drive on your behalf or as your employee. Your lanyard ID must be worn at all times

What happens if a customer wants to deal with me direct and not via the App?

Accepted Answer

You must refuse. The customer can nominate you as their preferred delivery driver but must not deal with you direct. Drivers found to be dealing direct with customers will have their Courier App membership terminated and will not be able to use The Courier App as a source of income. Customers also risk termination so it's best to politely refuse.

Question 8

What happens if a delivery is damaged, lost or stolen?"

Accepted Answer

Loads are covered by the company up to the value of $300. Depending on the circumstances you may or may not be liable. If it is found you have damaged or lost goods up to $300 maybe clawed back from future deliveries.

Question 9

Do I have to take every job in my area, or every type of Job?"

Accepted Answer

No you can choose to work how and when you want. You can choose any job listed on the app providing you can deliver on time and your happy with the amount paid. In fact you may prefer to accept particular types of jobs over others for instance food deliveries may suit you best. That's fine you have complete freedom to accept only the jobs you want to deliver and that suit your vehicle type.

How will i get jobs from all the apps and platforms Courier Driver supports, will I have to download multiple apps?"

Accepted Answer

No! all jobs from all the apps and platforms we perform deliveries for will be integrated into your single driver app for The Courier App. The jobs will display the appropriate logo for the client we are delivering for. This will help indicate to you as a driver who you are representing on a job to job basis. Each client may have slightly different procedures and will likely offer differing rates of compensation.
